Abstract: |
Propel LLC will develop novel and innovative low cost fire resistant (FR) polymers and yarns. These FR materials will be spun with cotton, and new innovative low cost FR NYCO textiles produced. The performance objective will be to meet the physical performance requirements for the USMC�?Ts Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform, with FR properties based on those for the USMC�?Ts Fire Resistant Organizational Gear. |
Benefits: |
New textiles meeting the needs of the the USMC and other services for low cost FR combat uniforms . Commercial applications include fire responder protective garments including police uniforms, firefighter station wear and wildland firefighters. Other commercial markets include industrial workwear for oil and gas and electric utility personnel. |
