Abstract: |
Q-Peak proposes an entirely fiberized, all-glass, broadband beam homogenizer that is brightness preserving, has extremely low insertion loss, and does not require any change in the current optical train of deployed systems. The proposed homogeizer is CTE matched, alignment free, and spliceable. The proposed homogenizer design is wavelength independent, requires no free-space components, and has been shown to homogenizer fiber outputs in the visible region of the spectrum to less than 5% Peak-to-Valley (PV) variation. |
Benefits: |
Q-Peak will immediately leverage the technology described here into direct IRCM application. In addition, the low loss, high power fiber connector technology described in the proposal will allow Q-Peak to further broaden its industry leading portfolio of 2 to 5 micron mid-IR laser products. Q-Peak will license an analog of the proposed homogenizer, in fused silica, towards commercial applications, such as digital projection, LiDAR, and sensors |
