Abstract: Attollo Engineering is proposing a very small MWIR camera using their innovative material and packaging capabilities. The camera will be VGA (640x512) and be capable of windowing to 64x64 at 1000Hz. The proposed camera will meet the specifications of low weight (< 120 cm3), and low cost using their novel cooler design. The camera will be able to image in normal backgrounds as well as those of high brightness. They use a novel ROIC architecture that allows them to reduce noise as well as power consumption in the system. The IDCA is compatible with both Stirling and JT coolers.
Benefits: Because of the small sensor size, the overall cost for Attollo?Ts IDCA will be significantly less than conventional IDCAs. With their smaller size, they can be deployed on smaller UAVs and gimbals. The MWIR camera they are developing will have applications in both military and commercial areas. Besides the obvious military applications, it will also have commercial uses for search and rescue and gas sensing applications.
